Accessibility At ResumeForge

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Our Commitment

ResumeForge is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to the tools they need to advance their career — regardless of how they interact with technology.

We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and continually improve the accessibility of our site and products.

⌨️
Keyboard Navigation
All features of the Service are operable via keyboard. Tab order follows a logical sequence, and interactive elements have visible focus indicators.
🔊
Screen Reader Support
We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels so that screen readers can accurately describe page structure, form fields, and interactive controls.
🎨
Color & Contrast
Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
📱
Responsive Design
The Service is designed to work across screen sizes and orientations, supporting zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality or content.
🖼️
Images & Media
Meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them. No content relies solely on color to convey meaning.
📋
Forms & Errors
All form fields have associated labels. Error messages are descriptive and announce to assistive technology so users can correct mistakes easily.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas are still being improved:

  • PDF resume downloads generated by the AI are not yet tagged for screen reader navigation. We are working on a solution to produce accessible PDFs.
  • Some template preview thumbnails in the template selector lack full descriptive alt text. We are adding detailed descriptions for each template style.
  • The drag-and-drop photo upload may not be fully keyboard-operable on all browsers. A click-to-upload alternative is always available.

We are actively working to address these issues and expect improvements in future releases.

Technical Approach

Our accessibility practices include:

  • Semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, section, footer, etc.) for page structure
  • ARIA roles and properties where HTML semantics are insufficient
  • Skip-to-main-content link at the top of each page
  • Logical heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3)
  • Focus management on dynamic content (modals, step navigation)
  • No reliance on motion or animation for conveying essential information (respects prefers-reduced-motion)

Assistive Technology Testing

We test our platform with the following assistive technologies:

  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS (Safari)
  • NVDA on Windows (Chrome, Firefox)
  • Keyboard-only navigation (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)

Browser Compatibility

ResumeForge supports the latest two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile. If you experience issues with a specific browser or assistive technology combination, please let us know.

Third-Party Content

Some portions of the Service include third-party integrations (e.g., Stripe's payment form). While we work with third-party vendors who share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of content or tools provided by external services.

Feedback & Reporting Issues

Accessibility is an ongoing effort and we welcome your feedback. If you encounter a barrier, need assistance, or have a suggestion, please reach out. We take all accessibility reports seriously and aim to respond within 3 business days.
